Magris Talc Canada has donated $5,000 to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation for the maternal child program. It's in memory of baby Félix McCarthy Carbonneau.

The donation is on behalf of Magris Talc's employee Sheelah Carbonneau (McCarthy), who lost her child in 2023. The donation is being used to address the critical needs of maternity and perinatal loss.

"In times of heartbreaking loss, extending our support to Sheelah, Justin and baby Félix through a compassionate donation is not just an act of kindness, but a powerful expression of our shared compassion and commitment to the well-being of our employees and their families," said Magris Talc in a news release.

The donation will help the hospital enhance its services, said maternal child program manager Alex Langevin.

"It will greatly improve the support for infants and women who depend on the services offered by Timmins and District Hospital," Langevin said.
